These brushes have been designed by a number of artists on DeviantArt and are currently free for download. These new brushes may or may not be customized for a particular software, that is, they may be downloaded and used on only one or a range of applications depending on the file type.įor the sake of this piece, we would be considering brushes that work with one of the most versatile art applications Firealpaca (although a couple of them are compatible with other applications). However, new brushes can be created and added to the palette. If I do use other brushes outside of that, they mainly are "effects" brushes. With the invention of digital illustration applications, being an artist has become a lot easier. Inker/flexible nib- kind of the same as the MS4 flexible, but I have the size set pretty low on this one to give me VERY thin lines.Īs far as coloring goes, I do most of my coloring in Photoshop(so I use the standard hard/round PS brush for everything as well as paint bucket), but I do use a brush in CSP- texture effect(rough) to create a splotchy/grainy like texture in a lot of my background-less panels and pics I bump up the shade enough to create a nice texture that subtlely stands out.

I use this for thinner quality lines, as well as smaller detail line work. It's a little stiffer in its flow, but flexible enough to give me some nice lines thinner than what I get with the flexible nib. My variety of brushes are mainly during my inking stage I use Clip Studio, therefore.įrenden MS4 Flexible nib- this is the brush that I use for the majority of my inking it flows very nicely for me, and I get a good variety of line widths out of it.įrenden MS4 Organic brush- I use this as a complimentary brush to the Flexible nib.
